Edward Ilyadzhanov, Founder & CIO
Mr. Ilyadzhanov is the Chief Investment Officer and Founder of E Squared Capital Management, which he started in 2009. Prior to founding E Squared, Mr. Ilyadzhanov spent 15 years at UBS, Cowen & Co and DLJ, working on their Equity Capital Market desks where he originated and executed lead managed IPOs and secondary transactions. Mr. Ilyadzhanov also spent 6 years in institutional equity sales, where he led a team of sales professionals providing equity research and analysis to investment funds.
Mr. Ilyadzhanov has invested in multiple start-ups in Technology, Healthcare, and Consumer sectors. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the Circle Academy Charter School, and he graduated from St. John’s University with a Bachelor in Science in Accounting.
Evan Fox, Portfolio Manager
Mr. Fox is a Portfolio Manager at E Squared where he analyzes most capital markets transactions and invests across all sectors. Prior to working at E Squared, he was a Senior Equity Analyst at Millennium Management where he covered industrials and building products. Before working at Millennium he was a Portfolio Manager at Rosecliff Capital and a Senior Equity Analyst at Kingside Partners. Mr. Fox began his Wall Street career as an Equity Analyst at Circle T-Partners.
Mr. Fox began his professional career as a corporate/securities attorney at a small New York law firm and graduated with a JD from Brooklyn Law School and Cum Laude from Brandeis University.
Les Funtleyder, Healthcare Portfolio Manager
Mr. Funtleyder is a Healthcare Portfolio Manager at E Squared where he is responsible for conducting fundamental and valuation analysis of public and private companies within the healthcare industry. Prior to E Squared Mr. Funtleyder was the Director of Strategic Investments for Opko Health and a healthcare strategist portfolio manager for the Miller Tabak Health Care Transformation Fund (Symbol: MTHFX). He joined Miller Tabak after managing a healthcare portfolio for Provident Advisors. Before joining Provident, Les worked as a medical device analyst at UBS Warburg. He also covered Biotechnology stocks at Bigelow and company. His industry experience includes directing clinical and business research at Innovative Health Solution, a joint venture of Merck and Wyeth, and as a consultant to HMOs and hospitals for Coopers & Lybrand and Health Strategies Group. He started his healthcare career at Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
Mr. Funtleyder wrote Healthcare Investing: Profiting from the New World of Pharma, Biotech, and Health Care Services, which bridges the gap between health reform, innovation and investing. He is widely quoted in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and the Financial Times, and is a frequent guest on CNBC, Bloomberg, and NPR for his perspective on the healthcare sector and its constituent companies. He is also a consulting partner to Bluecloud Health and holds boardships with several healthcare companies and foundations. Les is currently at Adjunct Professor of Public Health at Columbia.
Les earned his Masters of Public Health from Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health, and studied English and Economics at Tulane University.
Robert Corbett, Technology Portfolio Manager
Mr. Corbett is a Portfolio Manager at E Squared where he manages the firm's public and private technology and digital consumer investments. His research approach is rooted in fundamental analysis, where he leverages over twenty years of public and private company investment experience. Much of his effort is spent researching companies in the private market that are entering the growth equity stage of their life cycle and are pivoting towards the public markets.
Prior to joining E Squared, Mr. Corbett was an active angel investor working with venture stage companies in the consumer and digital media space. He spent the preceding seventeen years in the investment management business as a senior portfolio manager with Columbia Management and Oppenheimer Funds, managing micro-cap, small cap, and mid cap growth portfolios. Additionally, Mr. Corbett was a senior analyst with Oppenheimer Funds, Fortis Advisors and Morgan Stanley/Dean Witter where he covered emerging growth stocks. Mr. Corbett sits on the advisory board of numerous private companies.
Mr. Corbett has a B.S. in business from LeMoyne College.
Daniel Boro, Trader
Mr. Boro is the head trader at E Squared. He has over 10 years of experience trading equities. He began his wall street career with Falcon Ridge Capital on their trade support team. Prior to joining E Squared, Mr. Boro worked as a junior trader at Admiral Asset where he was responsible for trading equities for several sectors.
Mr. Boro studied International Business and Finance at Queens College.
Dr. Sean Alyeshmerni, Healthcare Analyst
Dr. Alyeshmerni is a published healthcare analyst at E Squared where he conducts fundamental analysis of public and private healthcare companies. Prior to E Squared, Sean was a sell side biotech equity research associate at a boutique bank. Before his transition to healthcare investing, he trained for two years in psychiatry and internal medicine.
Dr Alyeshmerni completed medical school at Nova Southeastern, and his academic career began at Stony Brook University where he co-authored an abstract in the American Heart Association and Circulation.
Ben Katz, Operations Analyst
Mr. Katz is the operations analyst at E Squared. In addition to various front, back, and middle office duties, Ben performs data recording, analysis, and trading of various asset classes.
Mr. Katz graduated with a BS in Financial Economics from Binghamton University.
